This 50ml bottle of Jacques Herbin 1670 Émeraude de Chivor (Chivor Emerald) teal ink features a deep red sheen and golden highlights. It was originally launched in August 2015. Each cap is hand-dipped in sealing wax, stamped with "1670" on the front, and is individually presented in a collector's edition box.
Jacques Herbin is said to have kept an emerald in his pocket during his travels as a good luck charm. These precious stones have been treasured for centuries as protective talismans. The Chivor mine, one of the purest emerald deposits in the world, was discovered in the mid-16th century by the Spanish conquistadors.
Chivor emeralds were highly sought after, and emperors and royalty from India, Turkey, and Persia sought out the treasures of the New World once the gems reached Europe. Emeralds were enormously popular at the Mughal court, whose emperors called them "Tears of the Moon" for their opaque transparency.
This beautiful emerald-green ink has a reddish sheen with golden sparkles, enhancing writing with unmatched elegance and beauty.
- Includes a booklet with the history of Jacques Herbin.
- Handmade wax seal and stopper.
- Size: 50ml glass bottle, wide mouth.
Due to the number of particles this ink contains to achieve its glitter effect, you may experience limited ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink well before refilling and gently rolling it between your hands frequently to maintain the glitter effect. This will also help prevent clogging. It's also important to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.
Ideal for fountain pens and most writing instruments.
